I was born and raised on Long Island and have a deep love for the water and the watermen who make their living fishing the waters off the island. For a number of years I have made an annual visit to Montauk to be with friends and family. I always take a half day or so to visit the commercial pier to try and capture the essence of what it takes to bring fish to those of us who live on land. I am drawn to the rustic nature of the dock and the raw appearance of the fishing fleet that calls Montauk home. Thru my paintings, I try to capture the hard life endured by the fishermen and their boats. I hope to convey to the viewer what it takes to bring the harvest in from sea.
